Why Work With Bethany's Swim Academy
I Swim From The Heart
As an experienced lifeguard, swim instructor, recreational swim coach, and water aerobics instructor on Hilton Head Is, SC, I swim and teach from the heart. I connect with you the swimmer and help you overcome your fear and anxiety in the water and bring out your super power. You will soon come to love the water, as do I.
I am an Aquatic Fitness Professional and water safety comes first. I am a mother and my children were swimming as babies. They have and do swim on the local swim team Hilton Head Aquatics and Hilton Head High School Swim Team. I practice what I preach. I am able to bring out the swimmer in you . It is never too late to learn to swim. I will help you relax into the water and find comfort in buoyancy. You will connect with something deep inside and a whole new world will open up for you.
As an adult that learns to swim you will connect with your inner child and find the fountain of youth you have been searching for. Improved circulation, mental focus, stronger body, the mental benefits from swimming are just as powerful as the physical benefits. For children, this spark and connection to the water will continue to inspire and bring joy their entire life as swimming is a lifetime activity that can continue as you advance in age.

Half of all Americans can't swim. Drowning is the number one cause of death in children between the ages of 1 and 4. There are on average 10 deaths each day in our country due to drowning. We are surrounded by water on Hilton Head Island. Everyone that lives in the low country area should learn to swim to be safe in and around the water.
The hydrostatic properties of the water increase circulation and overall well-being. Swimming is a lifetime activity that will help keep the mind and body strong and balanced. The science of swimming and the effects on the human body have been studied and regular swimming can replace dead brain cells, strengthen and tone the body, and boost mental health and mood. Swimming is high intensity and low impact. It is easy on the joints. It is also a perfect recovery work out for an athletic person. The water supports and massages the body and you move and provides resistance for muscle toning and strengthening. Humans are 70 percent water. We come from the water and we will go back to the water. Every human body will float. Let's get in pool, find your float, and swim together.
